Mama, I made it
We made it to Cornwall! Travel journey entailed a 9PM flight out of Seattle, arriving in London at 1PM, training into downtown London, training another 4 hours to Cornwall, and then a 45 minute taxi to our final destination, but we did it.
We arrived, dropped our bags in our AirBnB, and went promptly to the pub. Port Isaac is a tiny town and the wedding guests have fully taken over for the weekend. We walked through the doors of the pub and the bartender hits us with “are you with the Americans? They’re ‘round back”. We are now on a first name basis with said bartender, which I’m loving for us. He told us no one else was allowed to order Guinness, except for me 🥰.
More in depth reporting to come, but we’ve only been here for 24 hours, so that’s all you get this week.
On to the Treats!
On the treat agenda this morning:
This mornings Friday Treat was a sausage BAP, which is literally just sliced sausage on bread with butter. I did not get a photo of, but it did hit. My BAP was followed by a 3 mile walk on the coast, which I did take photos of! See below.
Wishful treating:
For a week that was dominated by packing, thinking about packing, and traveling, I sure did find the time to online window shop. Here are three things I wanted to buy this week:
An armchair that’s way too expensive, but I think would look great in our living room… Need to funk up the space a little!
This dice set that is packable & comes with instructions for six different games! Fun!
Treat of the week:
My dearest pal, Jillian (Jilly Bean, J Rose, etc.) is watching George for us while we’re gone. I miss him literally every second of being away from him and knowing that he is being loved on and cherished by Jill makes it literally 1,000,000 Xs easier being away. (I love you Jilly 🫶).
Currently reading
Still finishing up Divine Rivals, but also very ambitiously downloaded ~12 books for this trip. Please stay tuned on how this week goes reading wise.
Look! I got dressed:

Life updates you might care to know about
For those wondering, the obnoxious travel pillow I bought and mentioned here a few weeks ago was, in fact, a game changer. I slept for like half of the flight! Compared to the zero hours I usually get, this was huge for me.
All of the guide books, recommendations, etc.. include references to “Cornish cream tea”. I was thinking tea with special cream from Cornwall, yes? No. Cornish cream tea is actually tea with a scone, strawberry jam, and clotted cream (dank if you haven’t had, I agree that “clotted” is a word that we shouldn’t be using with food, but alas). The more you know.
Re: last weeks packing newsletter… Guys, I kinda crushed it. Fit everything for 58 degree England + 80 degree Portugal in a carry on + backpack and so far haven’t had any “damn I really wish I packed XX” moments. That said, it has been one day, so….
Next week I’ll have a better idea of the things I packed that were a waste of space, so stay tuned!
Thanks for reading!! Feel free to use the comments if you, well, have comments. You can also text me and the best I can do is promise I will try to be better about responding. **Smooches**
George told me he misses and he said he loved your fit on the coast and that he wants to know the bartenders name
